Notice and takedown

Report illegal content or an infringement of rights.

Use this procedure for copyright, trade marks, image or privacy rights, impersonation, threats, defamation and other potentially illegal user content.

What a notice must contain

  1. Your name and email address, except where the law permits those details to be omitted for a specific type of notice.
  2. A clear explanation of why you believe the reported information is illegal or infringes your rights.
  3. For copyright: a description of the protected work, your relationship to the rightsholder and why no permission or legal exception applies.
  4. The exact URL of every reported item and, where necessary, additional information that lets us locate it precisely. Do not attach copies of illegal material.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the information and allegations in the notice are accurate and complete.

How we handle the notice

Receipt

Send the notice to [email protected] with the subject “Illegal content notice”. We acknowledge receipt as soon as reasonably possible.

Assessment

We review complete notices in a timely, diligent and objective manner based on the information supplied. We may request additional information.

Interim action

Where a possible infringement is clear or urgent, we may temporarily disable the content during review.

Decision

We inform the notifier of our decision. If content or an account is restricted, we inform the affected user of the main reason and available appeal where appropriate, unless law or safety prevents this.

Evidence retention

We may retain the notice, decision and limited evidence for complaints, legal claims, legal duties and prevention of repeated misuse.

Appeals and misuse

Are you the uploader whose content was restricted? Reply to the decision or email [email protected] with the URL, your explanation, proof of permission or the legal exception you rely on. A human reviews the appeal.

Do not submit a knowingly false or misleading notice. Repeated manifestly unfounded notices may be temporarily restricted after warning. Each party remains responsible for its own statements.
